Guess What was a Canadian game show, broadcast on CTV television network from 1983 to 1987. It features 2 competing families playing a guessing game.
Personnel
It was originally created by Nick Nicholson & Roger Muir, produced and directed by Sidney M. Cohen, announced by Nick Holenreich and hosted by Robin Ward.
The Main Game
In each round, host Ward read a series of questions, each with six possible answers. When the question was read and the choices were revealed, each player in turn (commuting back & forth between teams) got to choose which answer is correct. Choosing the correct answer is worth 60 points minus 10 for every incorrect answer.
Team Effort Question
Each round ends with a special question called the “Team Effort Question”. Host Ward read the question after which four possible answers (A, B, C, & D) were revealed. Then the players had a small amount of time to think which answer is correct. The players then revealed their answers, and the team earned 20 points (100 on the last question) for each player who was correct for a maximum of 60 (300 on the final question).
The Team with the most points won the game and moved on to the bonus round.
Bonus Round
In the bonus round, the winning family were asked three more questions with four answers on the first question, five on the second, and six on the third. Each question was worth $50, and if the first two questions were answered correctly, the last question was worth a bonus prize.
Notes

- Robin joined Mike Darrow, Alex Trebek, Monty Hall and Jim Perry on the list of Canadian hosts who have also hosted at least one game show in the United States.
- One of the classic episodes in November 1984 featured the Aikenhead Family (Tim, Chip & Don Hill Jr.) facing off against the Roach Family of Whitby.
